Human Resources Advisor Role Summary

As a project lead or in collaboration with the Senior Partners and/or other members of the team, the Human Resources Advisor is responsible for performing HR Consulting in support of both internal and external clients, HR-based and L&D responsibilities of various complexities, along with participation in new business development activities.​

  • Liaise with clients and partners as needed. Attend client meetings and/or presentations virtually or in-person.

  • Support and assist the Senior Partners and other TAP team members and consultants, clients and other partners as relevant.

  • Adhere to timelines and scope of projects, utilizing project management principles.

  • Perform outreach to clients and potential clients as required for business development.

  • Develops or assists in the development of tools, templates, guidelines and processes.​

  • Provide direct telephone service to clients, as required, through the TAP Strategy HR TAPhelpline.

    • Works with TAP team members to monitor, evaluate and further develop workflow processes for TAP Strategy’s HR TAPhelpline.

  • Research, write reports and track information and time.

  • Some travel across Canada, mainly in/around the National Capital/Ottawa, and Toronto regions

  • Provide direct telephone service to clients through the TAP Strategy HR TAPhelpline (we are not a call centre).

  • Research and write reports.

  • Demonstrate a strong work ethic and teamwork approach.

  • Take feedback and want to keep learning.

  • Perform HR services of any kind, at any level.

What you need to have:

  • An HR designation.

  • A BA or other relevant degree.

  • Minimum of 6 years of demonstrated progressive HR experience.

  • Bilingualism is a very strong asset.

  • ​Very strong familiarity and knowledge with computers and technology. Microsoft 365 is a strong asset.

  • Strong and extensive knowledge of up-to-date human resources practices, trends, and national and provincial workplace and employment legislation.

  • Demonstrated experience in:

    • Organizational design and development activities, including performing organizational reviews and workplace assessments.

    • Developing Human Resources programs and related guidelines, tools, and templates, such as performance management and development programs, competency architectures/frameworks, recruitment/talent acquisition, job description writing, etc.

    • Policy  and report writing.

  • You are perfectly bilingual in English and French speaking and business writing.

  • You have demonstrated experience in:

    • Providing high-level advice and guidance for complex issues for best risk mitigation.

    • Facilitating and developing presentations, workshops, and programs.

    • Consulting or higher-level advisory roles within HR departments or firms.

  • You exude: Positive energy, adaptability, and ethical judgment.

  • You demonstrate the following additional competencies:

    • Interpersonal and Communication Skills: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to build relationships, manage client expectations, effectively interact with clients and team members, and build business.

    • Strategic Planning: Including skills in workforce planning, succession planning, and developing policies that promote diversity and inclusion, etc.

    • Communication, Interpersonal, and Consulting Skills.

    • Time  and Project Management: Ability to manage own time and multiple projects and deadlines efficiently while maintaining productivity, quality and stress levels.

  • You have good knowledge of employment legislation across Canada, especially in Ontario, and familiarity with HR Software/Human Resources Information Systems (HRIS).
